Extreme Words Don’t Always Have A Positive Effect

There is a common thread among human beings, and we can see it everywhere. but sometimes it’s easy to get caught in the trap of repetitive acceptance behavior.

When something’s done over and over it builds a kind of easy path for future patterns, like communicating in extremes. For example, ‘You’re great!’, and ‘That’s awesome!’. The power of those words becomes diluted with repetition and (most of all) too extreme sounding for people in any other are besides North America. A person may roll their eyes and become cynical upon hearing these shockers, too many times.

Remember, we follow a path in word usage, and when the marketing systems push the envelope to position themselves in our brains, they also establish a style of speech that doesn’t always work with other people.

If you’re working overseas and you’re from the United States, you would be wise to be more selective with your extreme adjectives. You will be more respected if you align you’re words with the actuality of the situation. We reach our foreign counterparts by aligning ourselves with them and meeting them half way. We can do this, one one level, with our word choice. As a leader, you will find that people will want to know more about you if you are careful with how your words are interpreted.
